Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient support and medical documentation. This role offers an opportunity to work supporting patients with a wide range of needs including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health. The CNA will play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and dignity while adhering to all healthcare regulations and standards.

Duties

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
  • Monitor and record vital signs accurately when needed.
  • Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs.
  • Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility to prevent falls or injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA and safety standards.
  • Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records system.

Requirements

  • Valid CNA certification with current licensure in Rhode Island is required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Experience working in various healthcare settings such as hospitals nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice or home care environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Axxess is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support techniques.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength including lifting (Hoyer lift) and repositioning patients safely.
  • Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and documentation.
  • Experience caring for patients with complex needs such as infectious diseases, behavioral health issues, or post-operative recovery is preferred.
