Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and assistive devices like Hoyer lifts.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and adherence to HIPAA and aseptic techniques.
• Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to implement care plans tailored to each patient’s needs, including those in long-term care facilities or hospice settings.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and proper manual handling procedures.
• Document patient interactions thoroughly in medical records while respecting patient confidentiality and privacy regulations.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program.
• Tuberculosis and medical screening complete and up to date
• Certification in CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or dementia care are a plus.
