Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
• Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and ensuring a safe environment
• Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling equipment to ensure safe patient transfers and prevent injury
• Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or wound management to prevent infection
• Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care in acute, sub-acute, or long-term settings

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state requirements
• Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, trauma centers, PICU), nursing homes, or home care is highly preferred
