Duties

  • Deliver direct patient care by assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Administer medications accurately following established protocols and document all medication activities in electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; report any abnormalities promptly to nursing staff
  • Support specialized care needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and behavioral health interventions
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
  • Assist with medical procedures in various settings including medical-surgical units, emergency departments, ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or hospice environments
  • Use EMR/EHR systems effectively for documentation of patient records and medical history updates; manage medical records meticulously
