Resident Assistant / Caregiver

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Assistant Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to residents in a senior assisted living/ memory care environment. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, ensure their safety, and promote a warm, engaging atmosphere. Responsibilities

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
• Monitor and record vital signs, medication administration, and health status updates using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, implementing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Support residents during meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
• Maintain a safe environment by using equipment like Hoyer lifts, ensuring cleanliness, and adhering to safety protocols.
• Engage residents in social activities and recreational programs to foster community involvement and mental stimulation.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs effectively.

Skills

• Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia management, and working with individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to perform first aid procedures confidently and respond promptly to emergencies.
