Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive care and support to residents with developmental disabilities, dementia, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disorders during weekend shifts.
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
  • Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, medication administration, and overall patient observation to detect changes or concerns promptly.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Support residents’ participation in social activities and community outings to foster engagement and independence.
  • Maintain accurate care plans, document observations, and communicate effectively with team members regarding residents’ progress or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold confidentiality at all times while delivering home health, hospice care, or assisted living support.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of dementia care, memory care techniques, Alzheimer’s care, and caring for individuals with intellectual disabilities or autism.
